Kay Dickinson - Chair

Kay took over from Denis Creaghan as Chair of the organisation in September 2016.  She has been on the Board member of Arches Housing since 2014 and is also on the Board of NOCN Limited, Voluntary Action Sheffield and Barnsley College.  She is a fellow of the Charted Institute of Management Accountants and was formerly Executive Director of the UK Commission for Employment & Skills.

Tony Jervis - Deputy Chair

Tony has been a Board member since September 2015 and took over from Kay as Vice-Chair. in September 2016  Until recently he was a Chartered Town Planner and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Housing.  With extensive experience in housing and regeneration, he has spent over 35 years specialising in the delivery of affordable housing within sustainable mixed tenure neighbourhoods and now runs his own consultancy practice.

Shamsa Latif 


Shamsa has been an Arches Board member since September 2010, she  has worked in the Civil Service for over 15 years for Jobcentre Plus.  She has extensive experience in the Voluntary, Community and Faith (VCF) sector where she led one of the largest BME Training and Enterprise Centres in Europe. 



Ken Torres



Ken joined Arches Board in September 2013, he was born in Bombay, India and came to Sheffield in 1963 working for 17 years in manufacturing companies. Following a request from Cadbury, Beecham's and Tunnel Refineries to design and manufacture pumps, Ken started his own company in 1981, Torres Pumps. A self-taught engineer, he is a member of the Council at the Sheffield Chamber of Commerce. 


Iain Campbell



Iain joined the Board for a second time in September 2015 he was previously Chair of Arches during the period of change to Arches management structure and attaining BME status. He is now retired from his various career roles as Community Participation Officer with Hull City Council, Chief Officer for a Housing Co-operative and a Community Development Trust and Housing Governance Officer with Hull Council.



Andrew Lilles (Co-opted)



Andrew joined the Board as a co-opted member in January 2017.  With over 30 years’ experience in social housing he is a members of the Association of Building Engineers (FCABE) and is currently a senior manager at Together Housing Group, responsible for asset management, stock investment, compliance and a full range of asset management functions.


Mohammed Jamil (Co-opted)



Mohammed also joined the Board as a co-opted member in January.  He has almost 30 years business management experience at senior management level in both private and public sectors, including in the nuclear services industry, Legal and Services Commission, Crown Prosecution Service, and UK Commission for Employment and Skills.  He has extensive experience of managing public investment and working with Boards, including audit and risk committees on the process and controls in place to demonstrate the effectiveness of the grant making processes.

Mohammed’s qualifications include a PhD in Nuclear Science and an MBA.
